Stern's Retiring

Commissioner David Stern announced today that he will be retiring in February 2014 and that Adam Silver will be taking his place. To commemorate this moment I give you my favorite Stern moment.

Opening Day!

With a Name Like Darko How Can't You Like Him?

This may not be news to some, but Darko Milicic was amnestied by the Minnesota Timberwolves this past week. This probably means he will not be in the league again with little to no interest from the other teams. As an owner of not one but two of his jerseys (Timberwolves and Pistons) this saddens me greatly. I think most Timberwolves fans and basketball minded people would agree that the team is better off without him, but I will still miss him when I go to watch there games or watch the Timberwolves on TV. Here are just a few of my favorite Darko moments that I got to experience:

1. Darko gets drafted and I want to cheer for him because he has an awesome name and he is suppose to be a superior Dirk Nowitzki
2. My first live NBA game is Timberwolves vs Thunder. Durant scores a ton of points but the crowd couldnt get enough of Darko
3. Darko raffles off his NBA Championship ring and belt for charity. And yes I immediately bought ten raffle tickets.
4. I wear a Darko jersey to the Timberwolves vs Clippers game and Darko wins player of the game.

I Don't Care That He Has Anxiety Issues

The 2012 NBA draft is here and I just wanted to post a quick hit about who I think is going to be the biggest sleeper of this draft. If you haven't heard of Royce White you can go here to see some of his game http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=usQJQi3IiE0&feature=related . The critiques made in the video are all pretty spot on, but I still feel White will be a starter and All-Star in the near future. His versatility should make him a productive member of any team and one of his biggest knocks is that he has anxiety issues which after reading more about it seemed like a minor issue. Hope to see him go somewhere with a stable environment and am looking forward to watching him next season.
